History Depicted

Have You Ever Looked at The Foundation,
On Which You Stand?
Ask What Was It’s Intention?
How Was It Planned?

Have You Ever Challenged..
It’s Old Conceptions?
Found the Answers Outdated..
And So Many Questions?

What Went Into Making It?
Who Built the Pillars?
Who Orchestrated the Thought?
Who Purchased the Builders?

Everything You’ve Been Taught..
What Were It’s Reasons?
From Whose Perspective..
Did They Build These Beacons?

Whose Histories Do We Read?
Were Their Perspectives Unbiased?
Or Were Their Actions Deemed Honorable..
By The Justified Pious?

Who’s Wrong? Who’s Right?
Is There an Accurate Depiction?
How Much of It Was Boasted?
Is It All Non-fiction?

Is History Just That..
Is It His Story..?
A Singular Perspective..
Of Man’s Own Glory?

It Seems Our Histories are Shaped..
By the Ones that Conquered.
It’s From Their Alleged Truths..
Our Foundations Have Been Altered.

But Who Were Their Opposers?
Were They Not Honorable Men?
What if They Had Succeeded?
What Would Our Truth Be Then?

Our Foundations Are Built,
Upon One Version of Truth..
Upon Those Victorious Men..
Who Told Their Own View.

This is What History Is..
Just Subjective Portraits..
Of Times in the Past..
That Repeat His Importance.

I liked the words of John Dryden. History is the opinion of the writer. Usally the winner writed the history.
